Chocolate shop opens in Downtown Wichita Falls

Brooke Willis, the owner of B Cocoa Artisan Chocolates, moved her flourishing chocolate shop from Finishing Touch Plaza to Downtown Wichita Falls at 809 8th Street. One of the unique things about their new location is the drive-thru! This old building downtown was previously the site of a bank and the owners chose to take full advantage.

Willis is a chocolatier with talents to put flavors where you want them, in your mouth! Be sure to come by and check out their eclectic space, specialty chocolates (like the Texas Rita margarita, or the spicy habeñero Hotter ‘N Hell themed flavors) and enjoy 3 separate sitting areas.

This delectable, locally-owned chocolate shop also showcases coffee from Odd Duck Coffee, B-Pops popsicles, and more.

38th Annual Hotter ‘N Hell Hundred Bike Race

Another great year for one of the hottest rides around.

Over 8,900 people rode in this year’s event and the link below showcases feeds across the internet. There were vendors set up at the finish line as well as inside the MPEC Exhibit Hall for riders and visitors to take respite from the heat.

Luckily, the weather didn’t hit triple digits this year, but hovered between 75-95 most of the morning/early afternoon. The Wichita Falls Chamber hosted a VIP A/C tent at the entrance to the MPEC Exhibit Hall where riders were able to enjoy refreshments and cold air.

You can search for #hhh100 and #hotternhell across social media to view visitor posts and follow the Wichita Falls Chamber to view pictures from the VIP Tent.

Wichita Falls Brewing Co. hails legislative changes to Texas alcohol laws

Matt Bitsche of Wichita Falls Brewing Co. heralded Texas lawmakers’ overhaul of state beer laws as the biggest modernization of antiquated rules since 1935 when they were first written.

Beer-to-go for producers and simpler labeling for craft brews were awaiting Gov. Greg Abbott’s signature Friday. They were part of a larger bill to revamp the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and keep it operating for the next 12 years.

“This law is about job creation, economic development, and support for entrepreneurship,” Bitsche, owner of the local brewery, said.
